The TP-Link SG2210P is an Omada 10-port Gigabit smart switch with 8-port PoE+ (AU hardware V5.20). Its eight Gigabit RJ45 ports are all 802.3af/at PoE+ with a 61 W total budget and up to 30 W per port, plus two Gigabit SFP slots. It is fanless, desktop or wall mountable, supports static routing, VLAN, ACL, QoS and IGMP snooping, and is managed standalone or through an Omada controller.

SG2210P overview

The SG2210P is TP-Link's Omada 10-port Gigabit smart switch with 8-port PoE+; TP-Link's datasheet titles it the Omada Access 10-Port Gigabit Switch with 8-Port PoE+. TP-Link Australia's product page currently shows hardware version V5.20, and the linked datasheet is for V5.30. Its ten ports are eight 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports, every one an 802.3af/at PoE+ port, and two 1000 Mbps SFP slots that take multimode or single-mode 1000BASE-X fibre. TP-Link's ordering information pairs it with Gigabit SFP modules such as the SM311LS single-mode (up to 20 km) and SM311LM multi-mode (up to 550 m) LC modules and the SM321A/SM321B WDM bi-directional modules. Non-PoE devices such as PCs and printers connect to the same ports normally.

The PoE budget is 61 W in total, with up to 30 W on any one port, so it suits a small group of access points, IP cameras or IP phones; eight devices drawing a full 30 W each would exceed the budget. The datasheet lists Alternative A pinout, Perpetual PoE, Fast PoE and PoE Extend Mode. Power comes from an external adapter with a 53.5 VDC / 1.31 A output. Maximum consumption depends on the hardware revision; the AU page lists 77.8 W at 110 V/60 Hz for V5 with 61 W of PDs connected, and the V5.30 datasheet lists 71.4 W at 220 V/50 Hz and standby consumption of 4.7 W. The fanless metal case measures 209 x 126 x 26 mm, mounts on a desk or wall, includes a physical security lock slot and weighs 0.62 kg according to the datasheet. The datasheet also lists ±6 kV surge protection on the service ports and an MTBF of 674,287 hours at 25 C. Certification is CE and FCC.

Performance is 20 Gbps switching capacity and 14.88 Mpps forwarding, with an 8K MAC table, 4.1 Mbit packet buffer and 9 KB jumbo frames. TP-Link highlights static routing to route internal traffic for higher efficiency: the switch supports 32 IPv4/IPv6 static routes and IP interfaces (16 on the AU page, 32 in the V5.30 datasheet), a DHCP server, DHCP interface, VLAN and L2 relay, and static, proxy and gratuitous ARP. Layer 2 features include static and 802.3ad LACP link aggregation (up to 8 groups of 8 ports), STP/RSTP/MSTP with STP security, loopback detection, 802.3x flow control and port and CPU mirroring. VLAN support covers 4K VLAN groups, 802.1Q tag VLAN, 12 MAC VLAN entries, protocol VLAN, GVRP and voice VLAN. QoS uses 802.1p CoS/DSCP with 8 priority queues, SP and WRR scheduling, port and flow-based rate limits and storm control.

For management, TP-Link lists standalone control via web GUI, CLI through telnet, SNMP v1/v2c/v3 and RMON, with SDM templates, dual image and configuration, CPU monitoring, cable diagnostics, EEE and system log. In Omada SDN it is managed centrally by the Omada cloud-based controller, the OC300 or OC200 hardware controllers, or the Omada software controller, giving cloud access, the Omada app, automatic device discovery, batch configuration and firmware upgrades, intelligent network monitoring, abnormal event warnings and reboot schedules, so access points, switches and gateways across multiple sites run from a single interface. Zero-Touch Provisioning requires the Omada cloud-based controller. The box contains the SG2210P, a power adapter, an installation guide and rubber feet.
