The Synology RS3621RPxs in depth

Reliability first

Service continuity is central to the RS3621RPxs. Dual redundant power supplies guard against a PSU failure, fans can be serviced through Synology's easy replacement system, and two identical units can form an active-passive Synology High Availability cluster with minute-level failover.

Customise performance and capacity

Two PCIe 3.0 x8 slots let you add 10GbE or 25GbE networking, or M.2 NVMe adapter cards to create SSD cache for HDD arrays. Memory scales to 64 GB, and two RX1217/RX1217RP expansion units take the system to 36 drive bays.

Licence-free data protection and collaboration

DiskStation Manager (DSM) includes Active Backup Suite, Hyper Backup and Snapshot Replication to protect endpoints, servers, VMs and Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace without per-device licence fees. Synology Drive, Office, Chat and Calendar provide a private cloud for file sharing and real-time collaboration, while Btrfs snapshots and encryption help keep data safe.
