The QNAP QXG-100G2SF-CX6 in depth

Built for NVMe all-flash NAS

Installed in an NVMe all-flash NAS with PCIe Gen 4 x16 slots, such as the TS-h2490FU, TDS-h2489FU or TS-h1290FX, the QXG-100G2SF-CX6 can realise 100Gbps performance for virtualisation, cloud applications and backup/restore. Connecting both ports to a 100GbE or faster switch gives up to 200GbE total bandwidth.

Virtualisation acceleration

SR-IOV assigns network card resources directly to virtual machines to reduce CPU overhead, while RoCE and iSER use RDMA to bypass parts of the network stack and cut latency for VMware and iSCSI workloads.

Reliable links with FEC

Three FEC modes let you balance latency and distance: No FEC for the lowest latency, BASE-R FEC (around 80ns) and RS-FEC (around 260ns) for the longest links. Both ends of a link must use the same mode.
