The QNAP QAI-U100 in depth

NPU acceleration for QuMagie

The QAI-U100 moves AI image processing from the NAS CPU to its own NPU, so QuMagie can classify photos and recognise faces and objects faster while using less power. QNAP's performance comparison was measured on a TS-673A with and without the QAI-U100.

Check compatibility before buying

The accelerator needs a NAS with a USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A port (or a QXP USB expansion card), QTS 5.2.1 or QuTS hero h5.2.1 or later, and current versions of QNAP AI Core, Multimedia Console and QuMagie. QNAP advises checking its compatibility list, which also lists incompatible devices, before purchase.
