The PowerShield DC Mini 36 (PSDCM36) is an inline DC UPS that sits between your existing 12–24 V plug pack and the device. It detects the input voltage automatically (12, 15, 19 or 24 V), delivers up to 36 W and keeps routers, modems, fibre ONTs, VoIP phones, security cameras and access control running from its built-in lithium-ion battery when the power fails.

End of life, limited stock. PowerShield has announced end of life for the DC Mini 36 (July 2026). This is remaining genuine stock. For new 12 V installs, the current model is the PowerShield DC Mini 12 (PSDCMIN12-18).

End of life, limited stock. PowerShield has announced end of life for the DC Mini 36 (July 2026). This is remaining genuine stock. For new 12 V installs, the current model is the PowerShield DC Mini 12 (PSDCMIN12-18).

PowerShield DC Mini 36 overview

The DC Mini 36 installs inline: connect the DC cord from your device's existing plug pack to its input, then connect its output cord to the device. It identifies the input voltage and passes the same voltage (12, 15, 19 or 24 V DC) to the device at up to 36 W. When mains fails, its 7.4 V 5200 mAh lithium-ion battery keeps the device running with no break, and a buzzer warns of battery mode, low DC and overload.

A set of six DC jack tips is included, and a terminal-block output on the side suits alarm panels and access control hardware.

Check before you buy

Confirm your device runs on 12, 15, 19 or 24 V DC and draws no more than 36 W, and keep its existing plug pack: the DC Mini 36 charges from it. When moving the unit to a different device, switch it off or reset it first so it re-detects the voltage.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about the PowerShield PSDCM36 from the ARC IP Networks team. Last reviewed October 2026.

It is an inline DC UPS. You plug your device's existing 12–24 V DC plug pack into it, connect its output to the device, and its lithium-ion battery takes over when mains power fails.

It automatically selects 12 V, 15 V, 19 V or 24 V DC to match the plug pack connected to its input, and supplies up to 36 W.

PowerShield quotes about 60 minutes at half load (18 W) and about 20 minutes at full load (36 W). A small router or NBN connection box drawing much less than 18 W will run for longer.

No. It runs from the plug pack that already powers your device, so it installs inline without another power point.

Yes. PowerShield has announced end of life for the DC Mini 36 as of July 2026. ARC IP Networks is selling remaining genuine stock. For new 12 V installs the current model is the DC Mini 12 (PSDCMIN12-18).
