The TP-Link Omada 12MP Bullet is a 4K+ PoE security camera with a 4512x2512 maximum resolution, a 4 mm F1.6 lens and a 101.5° horizontal field of view. It adds full-colour and Smart IR night vision to 30 m, human, vehicle and pet detection, red and blue flashing lights with a siren, two-way audio and microSD storage up to 512 GB, in an all-metal IP67 and IK10 housing.

Omada 12MP Bullet overview

The Omada 12MP Bullet is the 4K+ (12MP) bullet camera in TP-Link's Omada security range. A 1/2.49-inch progressive scan CMOS sensor records at up to 4512x2512, at 25 fps on 50 Hz power or 30 fps on 60 Hz; the main stream can also run at 3840x2160, 2560x1440, 2304x1296, 2048x1280, 1920x1080 or 1280x720. TP-Link notes the frame rate is limited to 20 fps if image rotation is set to 90° or 270°, or if the supplement light is on. The fixed 4 mm F1.6 lens on an M12 mount covers 101.5° horizontally, 49.2° vertically and 119.4° diagonally, and TP-Link quotes DORI distances of 122 m for detection, 51 m for observation, 25 m for recognition and 12 m for identification. TP-Link says the detail is enough to see faces, licence plates and critical moments clearly.

Night performance comes from two 850 nm IR LEDs and two white LEDs, each with a range of 30 m, and minimum illumination is 0.005 lux, or 0 lux with IR or white light. The Smart IR and colour night vision switch turns on the spotlights for full-colour images when people or vehicles are detected, and otherwise switches to infrared to reduce harsh light disturbance; the illuminators can also be set to auto, always on or always off. Image tools include DWDR, BLC, 3D DNR, Smart IR, an SNR of 52 dB or more, up to four privacy masks and adjustable mirror, rotation, contrast, brightness, saturation, sharpness, exposure and white balance.

Smart events cover motion detection with human, vehicle and pet detection, which TP-Link says reduces false notifications, plus line crossing, intrusion and camera tampering detection. Alarms can trigger memory card recording, FTP upload, push notifications, email, and active defence with a sound alarm and the red and blue flashing lights to deter intruders. A built-in microphone (picking up activity within a 5 m radius) and speaker provide two-way audio with environment noise filtering, so you can talk to visitors through the app. Video is compressed with H.265+, H.265, H.264+ or H.264 at 256 to 12288 Kbps on the main stream. Recording goes to a microSD card of up to 512 GB (card not included) or to an NVR.

The camera connects through one 10/100 Mbps RJ45 port with 802.3af/at PoE (12.9 W maximum) or a 12 V DC input (11.4 W maximum). It is managed through its web UI, the Omada Guard app or the Omada Cloud-Based Controller (Guard), supports ONVIF Profiles G, S and T, and allows three main streams and ten sub-streams to be viewed at once. Security includes password protection, HTTPS encryption, IP/MAC restriction, digest authentication and 802.1X. The all-metal housing is rated IP67 weatherproof and IK10 vandal proof, operates from -30 °C to 60 °C, measures 210 x 74 x 78 mm and weighs 0.6 kg. ARC IP Networks supplies the Omada 12MP Bullet from Australian stock with the full manufacturer's warranty.
