The Cisco Meraki in depth

Outdoor antenna for Meraki MR APs

The MA-ANT-27 is part of Meraki's dual-band generation of outdoor antennas (ANT-20/21/23/25/27) for the MR74, MR76, MR84 and MR86. All Meraki outdoor antennas use standard N-type connectors.

Connecting it correctly

Sector and patch antennas have two integrated pigtail cables that must both connect to the same radio. On a 2x2:2 MR76, for example, one antenna can serve the 2.4 GHz ports and another the 5 GHz ports.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about the Cisco Meraki from the ARC IP Networks team. Last reviewed October 2026.

Meraki supports the MA-ANT-27 on the MR74, MR76, MR84 and MR86 outdoor access points. It is not supported on indoor MR APs, on the MR70/MR78 (integrated antennas) or on the tri-band CW9163E.

Meraki rates it at 9 dBi at 2.4 GHz / 12 dBi at 5 GHz, with a half-power beamwidth of H: 86°/65°, V: 34°/18°.

It has two integrated pigtail cables with N connectors. Both connectors must go to the same radio, and the antenna should not be split across the top and bottom ports of the AP.

Meraki lists MA-MNT-ANT-6 as the replacement mounting hardware for the ANT-21/23/25/27 outdoor antennas, so the antenna can be re-mounted without replacing it.

Meraki says only Cisco Meraki antennas are fully certified and supported on Meraki APs; damage caused by a third-party antenna is not covered by the device warranty.
