LIC-MV-CA90-5YR

Cisco Meraki at a glance

The Cisco Meraki LIC-MV-CA90-5YR is a 5-year Cloud Archive add-on licence for one Meraki MV smart camera that records continuous 24/7 video to the cloud and keeps the most recent 90 days. It is assigned per camera and does not co-terminate, its term starts when it is assigned, and the camera's own onboard recording is unchanged.

ARC IP Networks is a Cisco Registered Partner in Australia. We supply the genuine Cisco Meraki through Cisco's authorised Australian distribution, with a GST tax invoice on every order.

Cloud retention90 days, 24/7
Term5 Years
Covers1x Meraki MV camera
EncryptionTLS in transit, SSE-KMS at rest

Best for

  • Sites with legal or regulatory requirements for continuous recording or off-site backup
  • Critical or at-risk cameras where footage must survive theft or damage
  • Keeping footage available when a camera is offline

Key features

Continuous 24/7 cloud backup of one MV camera, retaining the most recent 90 days of footage.

Retention is set by time, not capacity: footage is kept for a continuous period counted back from the current date.

Copies are stored on both the camera and the cloud; the dashboard plays from the camera first and from the cloud when the camera is unreachable or the footage is older than onboard storage.

Requires upload bandwidth of up to 3 Mbps per camera.

Uploads over TLS 1.2 directly to S3 with a pre-signed URL; stored video is encrypted with SSE-KMS server-side encryption.

Supports Smart Retention: Standard quality uploads at 1080p at 24 fps and Enhanced quality at 4MP at 24 fps.

During a WAN outage the camera caches the last 30 minutes for the archive and uploads the backlog when connectivity returns.

Archived video can be played back and exported from the dashboard, as 1-hour exports; bulk offloading is not supported.

Analytics are archived along with the video.

The Cisco Meraki in depth

How Cloud Archive works

Once the licence is assigned, the camera uploads continuous footage to the cloud and keeps a rolling 90 days. It does not upload footage recorded before the licence was applied, and if the camera stays powered but goes offline it keeps recording and uploads when it reconnects.

Assigning and expiry

Claim the licence under Organization > Configure > License Info, then assign it from the camera's Quality and Retention settings. When it expires the camera stops backing up to the cloud, while footage already archived remains until its retention period ends.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about the Cisco Meraki from the ARC IP Networks team. Last reviewed October 2026.

It is assigned to one Meraki MV camera. Meraki lists support across the MV12, MV13, MV22, MV23, MV32, MV33, MV52, MV53X, MV63, MV72, MV73 and MV93 families among others; the MV44X and MV84X are not supported.

No. Video is stored on both the camera and the cloud, the on-camera recording does not change, and the dashboard retrieves video from the camera first.

Cloud Archive licences work as per-device licences: the term begins counting down when the licence is assigned to a camera, not when it is claimed in the organisation, and it does not co-terminate.

Yes. Unassign the current Cloud Archive licence and assign one with the new duration. Only one licence can be attached to a camera, and moving to a shorter duration keeps video only for the new period.

Meraki specifies an upload bandwidth of up to 3 Mbps per camera, and recommends using Cloud Archive on critical cameras because of the bandwidth involved.
