Figures from Cisco's official data sheet.

The Cisco IE-3100-8T2C-E in depth

Compact Gigabit switching for harsh sites

The Catalyst IE3100 Rugged Series brings Gigabit Ethernet to industrial and extended enterprise sites in a compact, fixed DIN-rail switch. The IE-3100-8T2C-E has 8 copper Gigabit ports and 2 combo uplinks that take either copper or SFP fibre, and its fanless design suits manufacturing, energy, transport, mining and oil and gas environments.

Built-in resiliency and industrial protocols

Dual DC inputs and ring protocols such as REP, MRP, Fast MRP and G.8032 keep traffic moving if a link or supply fails. EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus, GOOSE and IEEE 1588v2 PTP let it integrate with automation systems from Rockwell, Siemens and others.

Secure, simple management

The switch runs Cisco IOS XE with Secure Boot, image signing and the Trust Anchor module. Set it up through the WebUI, automate it with NETCONF and RESTCONF, or manage it at scale from Cisco Catalyst Center, whose licences are an optional add-on.
