The TP-Link ES210GP is an Omada 10-port Gigabit easy managed switch with 8-port PoE+. It has eight 802.3af/at PoE+ RJ45 ports sharing a 63 W budget (up to 30 W per port), one Gigabit RJ45 uplink and one Gigabit SFP/RJ45 combo port, 20 Gbps switching, 250 m PoE, PoE Auto Recovery, VLAN, QoS and IGMP snooping in a fanless metal case, with Omada cloud management.

ES210GP overview

The ES210GP is TP-Link's Omada 10-port Gigabit easy managed switch with 8-port PoE+, shown on the AU page as hardware version V2. Its ten ports break down as eight 10/100/1000 Mbps PoE+ RJ45 ports (802.3af/at compliant), one 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 port without PoE, and one Gigabit SFP/RJ45 combo port. The combo port means the uplink can be either copper or a Gigabit SFP fibre module, which is useful when the switch sits in a remote cabinet or a separate building from the main network. All RJ45 ports support auto-negotiation and auto MDI/MDIX.

Power over Ethernet transmits both data and power on a single cable to 802.3af PoE or 802.3at PoE+ devices, without the hassle and cost of installing power cabling, and the switch automatically detects and supplies the required power. The ES210GP provides a 63 W budget across its eight PoE+ ports, with up to 30 W per port. TP-Link notes that PoE budget calculations are based on laboratory testing, and that the actual budget is not guaranteed and will vary with client limitations and environmental factors. Fast PoE and Perpetual PoE are supported, PoE Auto Recovery runs in Standalone Mode and IntelliRecover in Controller Mode, and TP-Link lists remote camera reboot with an Omada controller.

For long cable runs the ES210GP supports PoE transmission of up to 250 m. Ports using 250 m transmission are downgraded to 10 Mbps, and actual distance depends on cable quality. Performance figures are 20 Gbps switching capacity and a 14.88 Mpps forwarding rate, with an 8K MAC address table, 4 Mbit buffer, 15 KB jumbo frames and store-and-forward transmission. IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet is listed.

TP-Link pitches the ES210GP for reliable surveillance networking with 250 m PoE, remote camera reboot, QoS and port isolation. Its L2 features include 802.1Q tag VLAN with up to 32 VLAN groups and 4K VIDs, port isolation, static link aggregation with up to four aggregation groups and up to six ports per group, loopback detection for automatic loop prevention, 802.3x flow control, port mirroring, port and traffic statistics, 802.1ab LLDP, storm control, bandwidth control and IGMP v1/v2/v3 snooping with fast leave and report suppression. Port-based, 802.1p and DSCP QoS with 8 priority queues are supported in Standalone Mode, and QoS rules in Controller Mode. ONVIF is supported only in Controller Mode.

The switch has HTTPS/HTTP management, a DHCP client and cable diagnostics. Centralised cloud management via the web or the Omada app uses an Omada cloud-based, hardware or software controller with built-in version 6.1.0 or later, which also provides automatic device discovery, batch configuration, batch firmware upgrading and unified configuration; zero-touch provisioning requires the Omada Cloud-Based Controller. The fanless metal case measures 209 x 126 x 26 mm (8.2 x 4.9 x 1.0 in) for desktop or wall mounting, with a physical security lock slot and ±6 kV surge protection. Power comes from an AC/DC adapter (100-240 V AC in, 53.5 V DC / 1.31 A out). It operates from -5 to 40 °C and is FCC and CE certified. In the box are the ES210GP, power adapter, power cord, mounting feet and installation guide.
