The TP-Link EAP773 is an Omada BE9300 tri-band Wi-Fi 7 ceiling access point that TP-Link says unleashes Wi-Fi 7's full potential through its 10G PoE+ port, for offices, retail, MDUs and hotels. Six streams across 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz deliver up to 574, 2880 and 5760 Mbps, with 320 MHz channels, Multi-Link Operation, Multi-RUs and 4096-QAM for low latency and high capacity. The 100M to 10 Gbps multi-gigabit port removes the wired bottleneck and accepts 802.3at PoE+ (updated from 802.3bt by a software update), with 12 V / 2.5 A DC as an alternative. It supports 380+ clients, 24 SSIDs, PPSK and multiple portals, and is managed through Omada cloud, hardware or software controllers.

The TP-Link EAP773 is an Omada BE9300 tri-band Wi-Fi 7 ceiling mount access point with a 10 Gbps PoE+ port. It delivers 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, 2880 Mbps on 5 GHz and 5760 Mbps on 6 GHz with 320 MHz channels, MLO, Multi-RUs and 4K-QAM, supports 380+ concurrent clients and 140 square metres of coverage, and is powered by 802.3at PoE+ or 12 V / 2.5 A DC (adapter not included).

EAP773 overview

The EAP773 is TP-Link's Omada tri-band ceiling mount Wi-Fi 7 access point with a 10 Gigabit uplink. TP-Link says it unleashes Wi-Fi 7's full potential through its 10G PoE+ port, and positions it for bandwidth-intensive environments such as offices, retail, multi-dwelling units and hotels. In Australia it is listed as BE9300, with signal rates of 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, 2880 Mbps on 5 GHz and 5760 Mbps on 6 GHz, and TP-Link's AU overview states total throughput of up to 9214 Mbps. The global datasheet lists BE11000 for the US and BE9300 for the EU. TP-Link notes that maximum signal rates are physical rates from the IEEE 802.11 specifications and actual throughput varies.

TP-Link explains the Wi-Fi 7 gains in three parts. With the 6 GHz band, Wi-Fi 7 extends channel width to 320 MHz, doubling the channel bandwidth of Wi-Fi 6/6E for many more simultaneous transmissions at the fastest speeds. 4096-QAM carries 12 bits per symbol rather than Wi-Fi 6's 10 bits, so each signal carries denser data for high-bandwidth uses such as HD video conferencing and cloud applications. Multi-Link Operation lets devices communicate across multiple bands and channels simultaneously, and Multi-RUs open up previously wasted channel resources, improving reliability and reducing latency. MU-MIMO is 2x2 downlink and uplink, and BSS colouring and OFDMA are also listed.

The 10G port is the key difference from the EAP772. It is a single 100M/1000M/2.5G/5G/10G multi-gigabit RJ45 port, so the uplink can keep pace with the combined radios when connected to a 10G or 5G switch port. TP-Link says compatibility with 802.3at PoE makes it ideal for flexible deployment in large-scale sites such as offices, schools and hotels. Importantly, TP-Link notes that due to a software update the power requirement was changed from 802.3bt to 802.3at, so a PoE+ port is now sufficient. A 12 V / 2.5 A DC input is available as an alternative, though the power adapter is not included. Maximum power consumption is 24.05 W on PoE and 20.92 W on DC.

TP-Link lists coverage of up to 140 square metres (1,500 sq ft) and 380+ concurrent clients, both based on laboratory testing. Internal antennas are 2 x 4 dBi on 2.4 GHz and 2 x 5 dBi each on 5 GHz and 6 GHz, and a Bluetooth 5.2 radio is built in (TP-Link notes a firmware update may be required). Auto channel selection and power adjustment reduce interference by tuning the channels and transmit power of neighbouring APs in the same network. The unit measures 220 x 220 x 32.5 mm and weighs 0.73 kg, with ceiling, wall and junction box mounting kits included; the datasheet also lists T-bar mounting. It operates from 0 to 40 °C and is certified to CE, FCC and IC.

Wireless functions include 24 SSIDs (eight per band), load balance, band steering, beamforming, airtime fairness, WMM QoS, rate limits, RADIUS accounting, MAC authentication and schedules, and the datasheet adds PPSK and multiple portals. Security covers captive portal authentication, access control, up to 4,000 MAC filter entries, client isolation, VLAN, rogue AP detection and WPA, WPA2 and WPA3 Personal/Enterprise. It integrates into Omada SDN with cloud-based, hardware and software controllers and the Omada app; cloud access requires an Omada controller, 802.11k/v/r roaming is supported, and mesh and captive portal work with a controller. In the box are the EAP773, ceiling/wall/junction box mounting kits and an installation guide.
