The TP-Link EAP772-Outdoor is an Omada BE9300 tri-band omnidirectional Wi-Fi 7 indoor/outdoor access point. It delivers 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, 2882 Mbps on 5 GHz and 5765 Mbps on 6 GHz with 320 MHz channels and MLO, has an IP68 enclosure rated for submersion to 1.5 m for one hour, 300 square metres of recommended coverage, one 2.5 Gbps 802.3at PoE+ port, a built-in GNSS receiver and Bluetooth 5.2.

EAP772-Outdoor overview

The EAP772-Outdoor is TP-Link's Omada tri-band omnidirectional indoor/outdoor Wi-Fi 7 access point, which TP-Link calls Omada's first tri-band six-stream omnidirectional outdoor AP. In Australia it is listed as BE9300, with signal rates of 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, 2882 Mbps on 5 GHz and 5765 Mbps on 6 GHz; TP-Link's global datasheet describes it as BE11000 for the US and BE9300 for the EU. TP-Link positions it for hotels, business parks, yards, farms and other business outbuildings. It supports IEEE 802.11be/ax/ac/n/g/b/a, with 4K-QAM, OFDMA, MU-MIMO, Multi-Link Operation and 320 MHz channels. TP-Link notes that maximum signal rates are physical rates and actual throughput varies.

Outdoor 6 GHz is the headline. TP-Link explains that the 6 GHz band is unlocked for outdoor use by AFC (automated frequency coordination), giving true tri-band omnidirectional coverage, and notes that AFC availability varies by region or country. To support this, the EAP772-Outdoor includes a GNSS L1 receiver that tracks GPS, Galileo, GLONASS and BeiDou signals, with integrated 3 dBi antennas and -164 dBm tracking sensitivity. Wi-Fi antennas are 2 x 4 dBi on 2.4 GHz and 2 x 6 dBi each on 5 GHz and 6 GHz, and TP-Link says the 2.4 GHz antennas are dual-polarised for better anti-interference capability. Recommended omnidirectional coverage is 300 square metres (3,200 sq ft), and TP-Link lists 380+ concurrent clients.

The enclosure is built for the harshest conditions. TP-Link describes it as industry-leading IP68: fully sealed, completely dustproof and able to be submerged in water up to 1.5 metres deep for up to one hour, exceeding the IP67 standard. The datasheet adds windproof class 16 and a grounding terminal, and the operating range is -30 to 70 °C with 10 to 90% non-condensing humidity. The main unit measures 230 x 207.5 x 69.7 mm and weighs 1.41 kg, and pole and wall mounting kits are included together with a waterproof kit.

Power and data arrive on one cable through a single 10M/100M/1000M/2.5G multi-gigabit RJ45 port powered by 802.3at PoE+. TP-Link says the 2.5G PoE+ port provides high throughput for applications such as smooth live streaming and 4K video. Maximum consumption is 21.5 W on PoE. Unlike the indoor EAP772, there is no DC power input, so it needs an 802.3at PoE+ switch port or injector. Wireless functions include 24 SSIDs (eight per band), band steering, load balance, airtime fairness, beamforming, rate limits, WMM QoS, automatic channel assignment and statistics by SSID, AP or client. Security covers captive portal, access control, MAC filtering, client isolation, SSID-to-VLAN mapping, rogue AP detection, 802.1X and WPA, WPA2, WPA3 Personal/Enterprise and OWE.

For management, Omada SDN identifies the EAP772-Outdoor automatically for one-click adoption, and it works with Omada cloud-based, hardware and software controllers and the Omada app. Cloud access requires an Omada controller and zero-touch provisioning requires the Omada Cloud-Based Controller. Omada mesh, 802.11k/v/r seamless roaming and captive portal work with a controller. It also supports standalone web management, SSH and SNMP (the AU page lists v1/v2c; the datasheet lists v1/v2c/v3), and the datasheet lists Omada Controller and Omada Essential V5.15.24 and above and Omada App V4.20 and above. It is CE and FCC certified.

A BE9300 tri-band (2.4/5/6 GHz) Wi-Fi 7 omnidirectional access point for indoor or outdoor use, with an IP68 enclosure. TP-Link calls it Omada's first tri-band six-stream omnidirectional outdoor AP.

688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, 2882 Mbps on 5 GHz and 5765 Mbps on 6 GHz on the AU product page. These are maximum physical rates; actual throughput varies.

TP-Link says AFC enables outdoor use of the 6 GHz band, and notes that AFC availability varies by region or country. The built-in GNSS receiver supports this.

IP68: fully sealed, dustproof and able to be submerged to 1.5 m for up to one hour, according to TP-Link. It operates from -30 to 70 °C.

By 802.3at PoE+ on its 2.5 Gbps Ethernet port, with a maximum of 21.5 W. It has no DC input and no PoE injector is listed in the box.

TP-Link lists 300 square metres (3,200 sq ft) of recommended omnidirectional coverage and 380+ concurrent clients.

Both are BE9300 tri-band Wi-Fi 7 APs with a 2.5G port. The outdoor model adds IP68 protection, GNSS and pole/wall mounting, runs from PoE only and lists 2882 Mbps on 5 GHz versus 4324 Mbps on the EAP772.

Yes. Omada mesh and 802.11k/v/r seamless roaming are supported with an Omada controller.

Pole and wall mounting kits are included. The unit is 230 x 207.5 x 69.7 mm and weighs 1.41 kg.
