The TP-Link EAP610 is an Omada AX1800 Wi-Fi 6 ceiling access point for small offices, shops and homes: up to 1201 Mbps on 5 GHz and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, one gigabit Ethernet port powered by 802.3af PoE, 48 V passive PoE or the included adapter, more than 250 concurrent clients, and management through any Omada controller or the Omada app.

EAP610 overview

The EAP610 is TP-Link's value Wi-Fi 6 ceiling access point in the Omada range, and one of the most common choices for small business Wi-Fi. It is a dual-band AX1800 access point: TP-Link rates the 5 GHz radio at up to 1201 Mbps and the 2.4 GHz radio at up to 574 Mbps. Wi-Fi 6 features including OFDMA, 1024-QAM and the longer OFDM symbol help it serve many devices at once, and TP-Link rates it for more than 250 concurrent clients over about 115 square metres of coverage.

Installation is flexible. The single gigabit Ethernet port carries data and power, and TP-Link lists three ways to power it: standard IEEE 802.3af PoE, 48 V passive PoE, or the 12 V / 1 A DC adapter that comes in the box. Maximum power draw is 10.9 W on PoE (9.9 W on DC), low enough for almost any PoE switch or injector. Ceiling, wall and junction-box mounting kits are included, and the housing on current hardware versions measures 160 x 160 x 33.6 mm with internal omnidirectional antennas (2 x 4 dBi on 2.4 GHz and 2 x 5 dBi on 5 GHz).

For segmentation and security the EAP610 supports up to 16 SSIDs, eight per band, each of which can be mapped to its own VLAN for staff, guest and device networks. Security options include WPA-Personal and Enterprise, 802.1X, wireless MAC filtering, client isolation, rogue AP detection and captive portal authentication for guest access. Management options include HTTP/HTTPS web management, SSH, SNMP v1/v2c/v3, local and remote syslog, a management VLAN and LED on/off control.

Where the EAP610 really pays off is inside Omada SDN. Adopted into the Omada Cloud-Based Controller (Omada Central), an Omada hardware controller such as the OC200, or the free Omada Software Controller, it is configured and monitored alongside your Omada gateway and switches, from one dashboard and the Omada app, with multi-site management and email alerts. Zero-touch provisioning is available with the Omada Cloud-Based Controller. TP-Link has released several hardware versions of the EAP610; the power and size details above are TP-Link's figures for current versions.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about the EAP610 from the ARC IP Networks team.

Last reviewed October 2026.

It is an AX1800 Wi-Fi 6 access point. TP-Link rates the 5 GHz radio at up to 1201 Mbps and the 2.4 GHz radio at up to 574 Mbps. Real client speeds depend on the device, distance and interference.

By IEEE 802.3af PoE, 48 V passive PoE, or the 12 V / 1 A DC adapter included in the box. It draws a maximum of 10.9 W on PoE.

It works with any switch or injector that supplies standard 802.3af PoE or 48 V passive PoE. Its low power draw fits within almost any PoE budget.

TP-Link rates it for more than 250 concurrent clients. For best experience in busy rooms, plan fewer active users per AP or add more APs.

It can be managed on its own through its web interface, but central management, multi-site control, the Omada app and zero-touch provisioning use an Omada controller: Omada Central (cloud), an OC200 or OC300, or the free software controller.

Up to 16 SSIDs, eight on each band, each of which can be mapped to its own VLAN.

Yes. Ceiling, wall and junction-box mounting kits are all included.

The EAP610, a power adapter, ceiling, wall and junction-box mounting kits and an installation guide, according to TP-Link's published package contents.

The EAP610 suits small offices, shops and homes with moderate client counts. Choose the EAP670 (AX5400 with a 2.5G port) for crowded spaces and multi-gigabit networks.

Yes. ARC IP Networks supplies genuine TP-Link EAP610 access points with the full TP-Link manufacturer's warranty.

Need more than one EAP610 for a multi-AP or multi-site rollout?
