Professional Overview

The MikroTik CRS804-4DDQ-hRM is a compact 1U Cloud Router Switch engineered for AI clusters, storage fabrics and high-speed aggregation. It provides four 400G QSFP56-DD ports alongside two 1/10 Gigabit Ethernet copper ports, packing exceptional bandwidth density into a quiet, power-efficient rackmount form factor. It is a practical, cost-effective route to 400 Gigabit connectivity for small datacenters, enterprise pods and edge compute installations.

At its core, a Marvell 98DX7335 switch chip works alongside a quad-core 2.0 GHz ARM 64-bit AL52400 CPU, 4 GB of DDR4 RAM and 512 MB of NAND storage. The switch delivers 3.2 Tbps of non-blocking Layer 2 capacity and 1.6 Tbps of throughput at wire speed, keeping GPU nodes and storage traffic flowing without bottlenecks while maintaining predictable, low-latency performance.

Each 400G QSFP56-DD port is built from eight independent data lanes, enabling flexible breakout into two 200G links or lower-speed connections such as 100G, 50G, 40G, 25G, 10G, 5G, 2.5G and 1G. Running RouterOS v7 with a Level 6 license, the CRS804-4DDQ-hRM offers full Layer 3 routing, hardware offloading, firewall, VLAN and QoS, all managed through the familiar WinBox, WebFig and CLI tools. This lets you deploy it as a core, spine or aggregation switch today and scale to higher speeds over time without replacing hardware.

Built for long-term reliability, the unit ships with dual-redundant hot-swap AC power supplies, two-fan active cooling, and CPU, PCB and voltage monitoring, drawing only 123 W at full load with optics installed. It carries CE, EAC and ROHS certification, an IP20 rating, and an MTBF of approximately 200,000 hours. Australian stock from ARC IP Networks.
