The TP-Link Archer GXE75 is an AXE5400 tri-band Wi-Fi 6E gaming router rated at 2402 Mbps on 6 GHz, 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. It has a 2.5 Gbps WAN/LAN port, a gigabit WAN/LAN port and three gigabit LAN ports, a Game Centre with game QoS, a gaming port and GPN server acceleration, RGB lighting, USB 3.0, HomeShield and WireGuard, OpenVPN, PPTP and L2TP VPN.

Archer GXE75 overview

The Archer GXE75 is TP-Link's AXE5400 tri-band Wi-Fi 6E gaming router, a vertical tower design with RGB lighting rather than a flat router with external antennas. Its three radios all use 802.11ax: up to 2402 Mbps on the 6 GHz band, 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. Four optimally positioned antennas, TP-Link's proprietary Wi-Fi optimisation and beamforming are there so gaming stays uninterrupted in every corner of the home, and the 5 GHz band can be set aside as a dedicated gaming band.

The headline wired feature is a 2.5 Gbps internet (WAN/LAN) port, which TP-Link says maximises gigabit-plus speeds from your provider and leaves headroom for future broadband upgrades. Alongside it are a 1 Gbps WAN/LAN port and three 1 Gbps LAN ports. A USB 3.0 port supports NTFS, exFAT, HFS+ and FAT32 drives for an FTP server, media server and Samba server. WAN types are Dynamic IP, Static IP, PPPoE, PPTP and L2TP, the router works in Router Mode or Access Point Mode, and IPTV support includes IGMP proxy, IGMP snooping, bridge and tag VLAN, with IPv4 and IPv6.

Gaming tools are gathered in the Game Centre. Game Acceleration covers game application acceleration with QoS, which automatically detects and optimises gaming streams; game device acceleration through the gaming port, which prioritises traffic from your console or PC; game server acceleration by GPN, which TP-Link describes as a shorter path from gamers to game servers driven by real-time measurements; and a one-click acceleration button. The Game Panel shows network status, router performance, RGB settings and accelerated games and gear, Game Statistics provide comprehensive gaming traffic reports, and game port forwarding connects a console or PC to a game server in three steps. The RGB lighting offers a range of modes for an immersive setup.

VPN support is the broadest in this AXE5400 pair: the Archer GXE75 runs OpenVPN, PPTP, L2TP and WireGuard VPN servers and can act as a client for all four. Security includes an SPI firewall, access control, IP and MAC binding and an application layer gateway, plus HomeShield with real-time IoT protection, a malicious site blocker, an intrusion prevention system, DDoS attack prevention and a home network scanner, and Wi-Fi encryption covers WPA, WPA2, WPA3 and WPA/WPA2-Enterprise (802.1x). A separate IoT network can be created, guest networks run on all three bands, and HomeShield parental controls include custom profiles, a content filter library, Family Time, Bedtime, Off Time, Time Rewards, family online time ranking, Pause the Internet and weekly and monthly reports.

The router is EasyMesh-compatible, so you can extend it into a whole-home mesh with one Wi-Fi name, smart roaming and unified management from the central node through the Tether app or web UI. It also works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Cloud services include automatic firmware upgrades, TP-Link ID and DDNS, with TP-Link, NO-IP and DynDNS supported, and NAT forwarding offers port forwarding, port triggering, DMZ and UPnP. TP-Link's Australian product page does not list dimensions, power supply or package contents for the Archer GXE75.
