Best for

  • Bus and coach passenger saloons, doorways and aisles recorded on a Hikvision mobile DVR.
  • Cabin and driver-area cameras in trucks, ambulances and service vehicles where audio is wanted.
  • Ceiling mounting, using the internal 3-axis adjustment to aim along the aisle.
  • Replacing or extending existing AE-VC211T-IRS cameras on an analog fleet system.

Who it’s for

Bus & coach operators

Passenger saloon video and audio for incident review.

Fleet installers

A low-profile TVI dome with audio for mobile DVR aviation inputs.

Emergency services

Patient and crew area coverage in ambulances and service vehicles.

Installation checklist

  • Confirm the recorder input. The camera outputs 1080p TVI analog video on an aviation port. Your mobile DVR must accept 1080p TVI cameras with aviation-plug inputs.
  • Confirm camera power. The camera needs 9–16 VDC (max. 4 W), normally supplied by the recorder on the camera input. Do not wire it straight to a 24 V vehicle supply.
  • Mount it inside the vehicle. Hikvision does not list an ingress protection rating for this dome, so it is for interior ceilings, walls and headliners.
  • Aim the lens. Use the internal 3-axis adjustment (pan ±30°, tilt 0°–75°, rotate ±180°) to line the view up along the aisle or doorway.
  • Audio. The built-in microphone feeds the recorder over the aviation cable; enable audio recording on the DVR channel.
  • Choose the lens. This listing is the 2.8 mm lens (101° horizontal). Hikvision also makes a 3.6 mm version (87°) for longer saloons.

Vehicle Dome Camera FAQ – AE-VC211T-IRS

It is a 1080p analog (TVI) mini dome camera for vehicle interiors with a 2.8 mm lens (101° horizontal), smart IR from 10 to 20 m, RGB-IR imaging and a built-in microphone.

No. It outputs an analog TVI signal through an aviation port and must connect to a Hikvision mobile DVR with a TVI camera input. It cannot be plugged into a network switch, PoE NVR or router.

Yes. It has a built-in microphone and a line-level audio output on the aviation port, so cabin audio is recorded with the video.

It needs 9 to 16 VDC (max. 4 W), normally supplied by the mobile DVR through the camera cable. Do not connect it directly to a 24 V vehicle supply.

Hikvision lists an IR range of 10 m to 20 m, with smart IR to avoid over-exposing passengers close to the camera.

Hikvision does not list a weatherproof rating for the AE-VC211T-IRS, so it is designed for inside the vehicle. For exterior views, use an IP68-rated Hikvision vehicle camera.

Yes. The dome has internal 3-axis adjustment: pan −30° to 30°, tilt 0° to 75° and rotate −180° to 180°, so it can be aimed along an aisle from a ceiling or angled down from a wall or bulkhead.

The 2.8 mm lens covers 101° horizontally, suiting doorways, driver areas and shorter saloons. The 3.6 mm version covers 87° for longer aisles.

Professional overview

The Hikvision AE-VC211T-IRS is a 1080p infrared mini dome analog camera from Hikvision’s mobile camera range. It is designed for vehicle interiors such as bus and coach saloons, ambulances and service vehicles, and records both video and audio to a Hikvision mobile DVR.

Its 2 MP progressive scan CMOS sensor delivers 1080p at 25 or 30 fps through a 2.8 mm lens with a 101° horizontal and 120° diagonal field of view. Smart dot-matrix IR covers 10 to 20 m without washing out nearby faces, the sensor uses RGB-IR, and the camera reaches 0.01 lux in colour and 0 lux with IR.

Because it is an analog camera, it does not use Ethernet or PoE. Video, audio and power run over an aviation-port cable to the recorder, and the camera needs 9–16 VDC (max. 4 W). Check that your mobile DVR supports 1080p TVI inputs before installing.

The low-profile 97 × 99.5 × 46.6 mm dome weighs about 300 g, has internal 3-axis adjustment for ceiling or wall mounting and operates from −40 °C to 60 °C. Hikvision lists no weatherproof rating, so it is for interior use. It comes with the full Hikvision manufacturer’s warranty. Australian stock from ARC IP Networks.
