Yealink W80B — Cordless DECT IP Multi-Cell Base Station

Multi-Cell DECT IP Base Station for Mid-Sized Business Cordless Telephony

The Yealink W80B is a DECT IP multi-cell base station designed for organisations needing wireless coverage with the ease of large-scale deployment. Combined with multiple W80B base stations and a DECT manager (the W80B can act as either base station or DECT manager via software toggle), this Yealink DECT multi-cell system creates an extremely scalable, reliable solution — supporting up to 100 handsets and 100 simultaneous calls, with seamless roaming and handover as users move between zones.

The W80B works with Yealink W56H, W53H, W73H, W78H, W57R, and W59R DECT handsets (W56H/W53H require firmware version x.83.0.20 or later). Compact and modern, the W80B integrates Yealink HD voice quality with full-duplex technology and the Opus codec for superior audio.

The W80B inherits Yealink’s powerful Auto-P provisioning mechanism for efficient mass deployment via Yealink Redirection and Provisioning Service (RPS). The entire multi-cell system is configured and managed via the DECT Manager web portal — deployment, maintenance, and upgrades are trouble-free, saving IT time and cost. Grayscale Upgrade performs handset firmware upgrades without disrupting other handsets in the system.

DECT Multi-Cell Base Station FAQ — W80B

What is the W80B?

The Yealink W80B is a DECT IP multi-cell base station for medium-sized businesses. It supports up to 100 cordless handsets across up to 30 base stations system-wide, with 100 simultaneous voice calls and seamless roaming/handover between cells — ideal for warehouses, hospitality venues, schools, and multi-floor offices.

How is the W80B different from the W70B?

The W70B is a single-cell base station for up to 10 handsets and 20 calls in one location. The W80B is multi-cell, scaling to 100 handsets, 100 calls, and 30 base stations with seamless roaming/handover. Choose W80B when DECT coverage spans more than one zone or when handset capacity exceeds W70B’s 10-unit limit.

What is the W80B’s "All in One" mode?

A single W80B can software-toggle between two roles: base station or DECT manager. No extra hardware or firmware required — one unit acts as the system controller while others serve as additional radio cells. Simplifies stocking and reduces deployment cost.

Which handsets are compatible with the W80B?

Yealink W56H, W53H, W73H, W78H, W57R, and W59R DECT handsets. W56H and W53H require firmware version x.83.0.20 or later. Mix and match handsets across base stations within the same multi-cell system.

How is the W80B powered?

PoE IEEE 802.3af (Class 1) is the recommended deployment — single-cable wiring to each base from a PoE switch. An external 100–240 V AC → 5 V / 1.2 A DC adapter is supported but optional in the box (varies by region).

How is the W80B managed?

The DECT Manager (one W80B in DECT-manager mode) hosts a web portal that configures the entire multi-cell system — provisioning, firmware management, handset registration, monitoring, and upgrades. Auto-provisioning supports TFTP / FTP / HTTP / HTTPS / RPS / PnP. Grayscale Upgrade updates handset firmware without disrupting other handsets in the system.

What warranty does the W80B include?

Yealink standard manufacturer warranty applies. ARC IP Networks handles warranty claims locally in Australia.

Professional Overview

The Yealink W80B is a DECT IP multi-cell base station designed for organisations that need wireless coverage extending beyond what a single base can provide — warehouses, schools, hospitality venues, healthcare facilities, multi-floor office buildings. The W80B scales to 100 handsets, 100 simultaneous calls, and 30 base stations per system, with seamless roaming and handover so handset users stay connected as they move between zones.

Capacity figures — up to 100 handsets, 100 simultaneous calls, 100 SIP accounts, 30 base stations — are documented in the Specifications table above. Per-base capacity is up to 8 wideband (4 active handsets) or 8 narrowband calls. Each handset can hold up to 2 calls simultaneously. Wireless coverage extends 20–50 m indoors (ideal: 50 m) and up to 300 m outdoors per base station, with overlapping cells creating contiguous coverage across larger sites.

Audio quality is delivered through Opus, AMR-WB, and G.722 wideband codecs (plus narrowband fallbacks). Security covers TLS, SRTP, HTTPS, OpenVPN, AES configuration encryption, and SHA-256/384/512 hashing. Management consolidates into a single DECT Manager web portal that handles the entire multi-cell system — provisioning via Yealink’s Redirection and Provisioning Service (RPS), Auto-P, and OTA Grayscale Upgrade for firmware updates without disrupting active handsets. The "All in One" software toggle lets one W80B act as either base station or DECT manager, simplifying stocking and deployment.

The W80B is genuine Australian-stocked product through ARC IP Networks. Local warranty handling, pre-sales consultation on multi-cell DECT site survey, base station placement, and handset pack pricing are included.
