Professional Overview

The Ubiquiti UniFi Mobile Router Ultra (UMR-Ultra) is the premium, ruggedized connectivity solution engineered to provide mission-critical internet access and local networking in the most demanding environments. It combines an LTE modem, a powerful WiFi 6 access point, and versatile power options within a robust, compact chassis. This makes it the definitive choice for industrial control cabinets, transportation, remote infrastructure sites, and any deployment where network connectivity and resilience are non-negotiable.

At the core of the UMR-Ultra's design is its commitment to "always-on" connectivity. Its most significant feature is the dual Nano SIM card slots, which enable true internet redundancy. You can use SIMs from two different cellular carriers, and the router will automatically fail over from the primary to the secondary connection if an outage is detected, ensuring your network remains online. This capability is invaluable for any business or operation that cannot afford downtime.

Connectivity is a key strength. The device broadcasts a high-performance WiFi 6 network for local devices and includes two Gigabit Ethernet ports. One port accepts PoE+ for power, while the second provides 802.3af PoE output to power a downstream device like a security camera or sensor. This PoE passthrough is invaluable for simplifying infrastructure at remote sites. Powering the UMR-Ultra is equally flexible, with options for either 802.3at PoE+ or a direct DC connection via a terminal block, ensuring compatibility with standard industrial power systems (note: power supply is not included).

Built to withstand harsh conditions, the UMR-Ultra features a durable die-cast aluminum enclosure with an IP54 rating for protection against dust and water. As a native UniFi device, it is seamlessly adopted and managed by the UniFi Network application, providing a single pane of glass to configure settings, monitor cellular signal strength, and set up sophisticated failover rules. This level of professional management elevates the UMR-Ultra far beyond a standard mobile hotspot, making it an indispensable tool for reliable connectivity where it matters most.
