Professional Overview

The MikroTik CCR2004-16G-2S+PC is a formidable Cloud Core Router engineered for medium to large-scale networks that demand both high throughput and completely silent operation. Leveraging a powerful 4-core 1.7GHz Annapurna Labs Alpine AL314 CPU and 4GB of DDR4 RAM, this device is designed to handle complex routing tasks, intricate firewall rules, and high-volume VPN tunnels with exceptional efficiency. The 'PC' suffix denotes its Passive Cooled design, eliminating fans for utterly silent operation, making it ideal for noise-sensitive environments such as offices, recording studios, or medical facilities where acoustic performance is critical.

This router's connectivity suite is a major highlight, featuring 16 Gigabit Ethernet ports for high-density local area network connections, complemented by two 1 Gigabit SFP cages and two ultra-fast 10 Gigabit SFP+ cages. This comprehensive port array provides unparalleled flexibility for high-speed uplinks, direct fiber connections, and server aggregation, ensuring your network infrastructure is ready for future demands. The 10GbE SFP+ ports are crucial for connecting to core switches, network-attached storage (NAS) systems, or high-bandwidth servers, effectively minimizing potential bottlenecks.

Critical for business continuity, the CCR2004-16G-2S+PC incorporates dual redundant hot-swappable power supplies. This redundancy guarantees uninterrupted service even in the event of a power supply failure, a vital feature for mission-critical applications where downtime is simply not an option. The passive cooling design not only ensures silent operation but also reduces the number of moving parts, thereby enhancing overall reliability, lowering long-term maintenance needs, and contributing to lower power consumption compared to actively cooled alternatives.

Powered by MikroTik's robust RouterOS with a Level 6 license, this CCR offers an extensive suite of networking features. From advanced routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and robust firewall capabilities to comprehensive Quality of Service (QoS) and VPN support, network administrators have granular control over every aspect of their network. It excels in roles such as a high-performance border router, a powerful core switch, an advanced firewall, or a centralized VPN concentrator, capable of managing thousands of users and complex data flows efficiently, securely, and without a sound.
